Director of Greenery Design
Full-Time — $65,000 - $80,000/year
Variegated NYC is seeking a visionary Director of Greenery Design to lead our creative team in crafting stunning, innovative greenery & plant-based design solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep passion for greenery, aesthetics, and seamless project execution. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, exceptional client relations skills, and a keen eye for detail to every aspect of our projects, from conception to completion.

Responsibilities:
Oversee and inspire a talented design team, cultivating a dynamic and cooperative work environment while collaborating with contractors to achieve outstanding, high-quality designs.
Build and nurture client relationships, steering projects through all phases—from initial concept to final implementation—ensuring designs meet and exceed expectations.
Collaborate with the design team to create compelling and insightful indoor plant designs that align with client budgets and goals.
Lead on-site installations with precision and efficiency, ensuring seamless execution that aligns with design plans and enhances the overall aesthetic impact.
Identify and integrate new materials, products, and techniques to push creative boundaries, refine project outcomes, and establish a distinctive brand identity.
Design and implement budgeting strategies, operational workflows, and team structures that support the company’s growth and long-term success.
Train and mentor team members to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in greenery, landscape, or interior plant design, with a strong portfolio showcasing innovative projects, or significant creative & design field experience that can be adapted to greenery design.
Demonstrated leadership and team management experience, with the ability to mentor and inspire designers.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
Excellent communication and client-facing abilities, capable of translating ideas into compelling design solutions.
Experience with sourcing, budgeting, and operational planning in a creative environment.
Proficiency in image editing software, including Photoshop, as well as CAD and modeling tools, to enhance design presentations and project visuals, is preferred.
